Operation Fistula

Operation Fistula is on a mission to end fistula for every woman, everywhere.

What do they do

Obstetric fistula is a devastating injury that occurs during childbirth when a woman has experienced a prolonged obstructed labour and has no access to safe, timely obstetric care. Operation Fistula’s work delivers tools designed to fix the broken systems that fail women, and that limit progress in the work to end fistula. They fund and support fistula surgeons that fall outside the reach of traditional funding, empower partners with technology and data to drive collaboration, implement programs that ensure all patients are reached and cared for, and conduct advocacy work to raise awareness of gender inequality and support grassroots organisations in their work to achieve SDG 5.

How we helped

From deploying algorithms to classify fistula, to creating compelling data visualisations that raise awareness of gender inequality, TIL+ has collaborated with Operation Fistula on several projects, and organised training sessions to upskill their employees, and support their data-driven work and vision.
