The Information Lab’s Training Day

We would like to invite you to The Information Lab’s Training Day. The day will be a hands-on training day on Alteryx. The sessions will take place in person at The Information Lab’s office and lunch will be provided.

What are these events all about?

Want to learn how to harness the power of your data, but are short on time? Then these speedy 1.5-hour hands-on sessions are for you! We cover a range of topics so if you're new to Alteryx, or an experienced user, there's a session for you.

One of the features of the Data School training program is getting to teach others. We've decided that we should teach YOU, instead of each other. We'll run 4x 90 minute training sessions concurrently on each track

Our sessions are hands-on, so make sure you are ready-to-go by downloading a copy of the software for the session on your laptop (you can download trial versions Alteryx Designer).

Alteryx Track

09:30 - 11:00 Introduction to Alteryx Designer

In this session we will show you an overview of Alteryx Designer’s capabilities – how you can drag and drop your way through data cleansing, aggregation and preparation processes that are repeatable and shareable with your colleagues.

11:15 - 12:45 Introduction to Formulas

In this session, you will cover some of the basic formula calculations that are used in Alteryx. See how some excel functions can be transformed into Alteryx and all the places you can use formulas.

12:45-13:30 - LUNCH

13:30 - 15:00 Introduction to Transformations

This session builds on our previous session to help you learn about the different ways that you can transform your data; we’ll be going into deep practice with the Join and Transformation tool palettes.

15:15 - 16:45 Next Level Alteryx Tools

In this session we will take you beyond the tools in the 'Favourite' menu. From the Cross-Tab to the Multi-Row Formula tools, you'll learn how to use, and grow to love, these powerful next-level data preparation tools.
