Mike Lowe

Account Manager

I've always been interested in numbers. Table top snooker table at an early age, dart board in the garage are probably to blame. Quite the academic, leaning into the sciences and even ending up with a Maths degree of all things. We'll skip over a fair few years in IT, fighting databases and business users who couldn't get their answers, until coming across Tableau in 2012. Wow. Where's this tool been all my career? Finally something to bring those numbers to life and a career change just around the corner.

I joined the Information Lab in 2014 and what a ride its been. Working primarily with Tableau and Alteryx, and also adding new tools into the mix. The visible excitement from our customers seeing what these tools can bring to their roles, the insight they can gain and value they can add has been something to behold. Finally a chance to make an analyst of anyone.

My focus these days is an Account Manager. It gives me a chance to share previous experiences whilst helping our customers along their analytic journey.

As we journey on

So its not all about the numbers and data geekery. Along the way I have found a passion for travel. Too many places to list off. South Devon will always be special, but I do love the Far East. The buzz of Tokyo, the sights and sounds of Singapore, the energy of Hong Kong with countless places to explore and relax across Vietnam and Thailand whilst loving that food! Its not very often that I return from a trip and the next one isn't already planned out.

Still have that love of sports, although these days its watching more than participating. To anyone that will listen I will moan on about the trials and tribulations of following Birmingham City. That doesn't really help with the stress levels, so for the last 5 years or so my downtime is often spent fighting the weeds and grass at the allotment. A good excuse to get outside, get the hands dirty and forget about that last shocking Blues defeat....
