I graduated from Columbia University with a Master’s Degree in Political Science, building on a BA in Politics from the University of York. I enjoyed using R to parse and visualise survey data, so I started looking for roles in data.
I am a dbt Certified Analytics Engineer, familiar with both dbt platform and dbt Core. At a client, I worked within an agile engineering team, completing requests on a customer data product that was used for targeted marketing. My attention to detail helped identify a code change that consolidated a field from over 2.5 million combinations down to 19,000, reducing the redundant data being sent to the third-party marketing company and saving the business money.
I have also led a dbt Implementation at a major investment bank, consolidating previously disparate transformation logic and testing into a single repository. I worked collaboratively with IT teams to establish the AWS infrastructure to self-host the deployment. My familiarity with the data structure Tableau works best with and how Tableau generates its queries resulted in decreasing maximum query times in a Redshift database from over 70 seconds down to 10 seconds.
I really enjoy picking up new software and tools in the space and helping others solve problems - in the Alteryx Community, I have over 50 recognised solutions. For one client, I developed and deployed a data refresh app to allow end users to refresh their data and save the business full-time data service staff. I have long been a proponent of test-driven development and designed best practice workflows within Alteryx that were deployed company-wide across 100s of users.
I have a range of dashboards on my Tableau Public, accumulating over 10,000 views and 400 favourites. For a client, I helped save over eight hours of internal reporting a month for an HR department by delivering a combination of high-level and detail dashboards on the department's operations.
